Studio & Class information
Required Dancewear
AT DK DANCE STUDIO, THE DANCERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR A CERTAIN UNIFORM. THEY ARE, HOWEVER, REQUIRED TO WEAR APPROPRIATE STYLE-SPECIFIC DANCE ATTIRE (SEE BELOW).
Dance apparel (shoes, leotards, tights, accessories) can be purchased year-round from.
All dancers should have their own DANCE BAG.
Dancers may bring a LABELED WATER-BOTTLE.
Please ensure all parts of your child’s apparel and shoes are clearly labelled - individual shoes, socks, leotards, underpants...you’ll be amazed at the amount of lost property we generate!
Further style-specific uniform requirements are as follows:
Lil’ MOVERS Babies thru Tots
Comfortable, moveable clothes. Leotard with Ballet shoes if possible.
Lil’ MOVERS Program (ages 3-6)
Any color leotard and tights.
They are also permitted to wear ballet skirts, shorts or fitted pants and shirts.
Hair must be pulled back in a secure ponytail, bun or braid.
SHOES: black tap shoes & pink ballet shoes.
BOYS: Comfortable pants or shorts, tee shirt.
Acro-Dance Classes - ALL AGES
Students do not need footwear for this class.
They must wear tight fitting clothing or a leotard with their hair tied back so that they cannot get it caught or tangled in any way when they are doing their tricks.
Hip-Hop Classes - ALL AGES
Students require CLEAN, only for dance class Sneakers along with any combination of shirts, shorts or pants.
JEANS are NOT permitted in class. Sneakers worn outside are not permitted in class.
MINI-MOVERS, 6-8 years old / JUNIOR , 9-12 years old
Combo-Class
Ballet
Ballet students must have pink ballet shoes which can be purchased from our Apparel Shop.
You will also need tan or pink ballet tights and any color leotard.
Jazz & Tap
Mini and Junior: Tan Tap and Jazz Shoes, Any color leotard and tights.
They are also permitted to wear ballet skirts, shorts or fitted pants and shirts. Midriffs should not be exposed in classes.
Pre-Teen & TEENS, 12+
Ballet
Ballet students must have pink ballet shoes which can be purchased from our Apparel Shop.
You will also need tan or pink ballet tights and any color leotard.
Jazz & Tap
Black Tie Tap and Jazz Shoes, Any color leotard and tights.
They are also permitted to wear ballet skirts, shorts or fitted pants and shirts.
