PETER BASE

Teaching ballet on Mondays

Mr. Peter is joining the DK Dance Studio faculty this year, and we are so excited to have him! Born in Westlake, Ohio, Peter Base began dancing at the age of eight. Peter began his training at Greenville Ballet, under the tutelage of Andrew and Merry Kuharsky, where he continued through high school, and eventually added training at the Fine Arts Center of Greenville. Peter has also studied at the Orlando Ballet School, and with Nashville Ballet as a trainee. He danced with Brevard Ballet Theatre in their 2007-2008 season, spent six seasons as a company member with Carolina Ballet Theatre, under the Artistic Direction of Hernan Justo, and is pleased to be entering his first season as a company member with Rochester City Ballet. Peter has performed with ballet companies across the east coast and is currently an ongoing guest artist with the University of South Carolina’s Dance Conservatory in Columbia, South Carolina; Savannah Danse Theater in Savannah, Georgia and Griffin Ballet Theatre in Griffin, Georgia. He was privileged to be invited this past spring for the second time to work with the Yoko Kasai Ballet Studio in Fujinomiya, and performed in Fuji City, Japan. Some of Peter's favorite roles he has performed include the Bluebird Pas de Due from "Sleeping Beauty", the men’s regiment in Balanchine's "Stars & Stripes", "True Blue, Down Home" by Francesca Genovese, and Dwight Rhoden's "Beetlejuice".
